After a brief consultation checking shape, colour, history and present behaviour of the mole and receiving authorisation from the clients GP the procedure is as follow:
First cleansing the area with surgical spirit, a thermal lance is used to criss-cross the protrusion of the mole, only down to surface skin level. The cauterized mole being desensitized is then scrapped away, leaving a smooth skin. A pink mark may remain (as in a healing spot) eventual fading away.
Aftercare is simple - leaving the area dry i.e. no moisturiser, cleanser or toners for 5-7 days. Wash around the area. If the area gets wet pat dry with a tissue do not use a flannel, towel or anything abrasive for the two weeks leading up to the follow up appointment.
The only recommended preparation that can be used during the healing process is CX powder which will keep it dry and as free from bacteria as possible.
